Pasture Raised Kunekune/ Mangalista Cross - Whole Hog
We raise our pigs on a mixture of locally milled, soy free, non gmo feed and access to pasture.
We rotate them through our farm, where they mix the soil and help to regenerate the land.
They live happy lives, sleeping in the shade, enjoying their belly rubs and of course getting treats! They are not confined to over crowded concrete pens like the pork you get at the store.
Our pork is dark red and marbled, with amazing flavor and juciness. These pigs are a cross half Kunekune and half Mangalista, the Mangalitsa pork is sometimes called the "Kobe beef of pork".
As you can see on the graphic, it's packed with Omegas and Vitamins. We believe once you've tasted our pasture raised pork you will never go back to eating pork from the grocery store.
For a whole hog there is a non refundable deposit of $300. This amount will be applied to the total amount owed. Once we recieve your deposit, you will be sent a cut sheet, where you can specify exactly what cuts and curing you would like.
Your hog will be processed at Wiatreks Meat Market, a South Texas family owned business that has been in agriculture since 1899.
Hogs are sold at $6.50/lb hanging weight.
Hanging weight means, once the hog is dispatched, skinned all organs removed.
On average the hanging weight will be between 100-175lbs for a whole hog.
We offer free home delivery within 50miles of our farm.
The process date will be at the end of April. The date of pickup/delivery will be 2 weeks after processing. You will be receiving email updates as far as when the meat will be ready for delivery/pick up.
You are buying a live animal, we will take care of transporting the animal to the processor and picking up the meat once it's ready. Feel free to send us a message with any questions.
